AIER’s Bastiat Society program in Nashville hosted an event with Don Boudreaux, Senior Fellow at AIER and the F. A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, a Mercatus Center Board Member, and a professor of economics and former economics-department chair at George Mason University.

"Over the past 40 or 50 years, America’s middle class has stagnated! It’s being hollowed-out! The rewards of economic growth are being captured only by the rich!"
This claim is made incessantly. It’s repeated as if it’s an established fact. But it’s not only wrong, it’s spectacularly wrong. Since the 1970s, ordinary Americans’ standard of living has improved dramatically. Don Boudreaux has the evidence.
