AIER’s Bastiat Society program in Nashville hosted an event with Bryan Cutsinger, assistant professor of economics at the Norris-Vincent College of Business at Angelo State University.

In recent years, the Federal Reserve has begun to undertake activities that stray far afield from its narrow mission of price stability and full employment into overtly political areas such as social justice and climate change. What caused this shift? In this talk, Cutsinger argues that this shift was brought about by the result of the Fed’s operating framework, the rules of governing the choice of Reserve Bank Presidents, and the increasing tendency of Fed economists to support left-wing causes.

The Bastiat Society of Nashville’s speaker series is co-sponsored by The Political Economy Research Institute at MTSU.
