A virtual discussion with author and historian Dr. Burt Folsom Jr. (visiting professor of Economic History at Kennesaw State University). This was a public event that required registration to join the Zoom lecture and Q&A session with attendees.

Dr. Folsom discusses his book, Uncle Sam Can't Count: A History of Failed Government Investments, from Beaver Pelts to Green Energy, coauthored with his wife, Anita Folsom. “Drawing on examples from the nation’s past and present…” the book “explains why the federal government cannot and should not pick winners and losers in the private sector…” Burt and Anita argue that “Politicians want to win votes, and they can do so by giving targeted CEOs benefits while dispersing the costs to others.”
