DePriest earns CoSIDA Academic All-District honors

Murfreesboro, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Soccer's Peyton DePriest has been named to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

DePriest is one of 12 players who were named First Team honorees from District 3, recognizing the senior has one of the best NCAA Division I players from Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia.

The honor marks the second Academic All-District honor and sixth total academic team nod for DePriest. She is a four-time C-USA All-Academic Team honoree, as well as being named to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team following the spring season this past June.

DePriest graduated with her undergraduate degree this past fall, producing a 3.94 GPA and graduating with a degree in exercise science. She is currently working towards her Master of Science in leisure, sport, and tourism management with a specialization in sport industry and has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in her graduate studies.

Her all-district team nod adds to the Franklin, Tennessee native's illustrious career as she is a two-time C-USA Offensive Player of the Year, a one-time C-USA Player of the Year, C-USA Freshman of the Year, 2019 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American, three-time C-USA All-Conference First Team selection, C-USA All-Conference Second Team selection, and 2021 C-USA All-Tournament Team selection.

DePriest produced a record breaking 2021 campaign that saw the senior score a conference-leading 12 goals through 19 games, in addition to dishing out four assists for a league-leading 28 points. DePriest broke the C-USA all-time record for goals scored with 50 against Houston Baptist and produced an astounding 58 career goals, which led all active NCAA DI student-athletes for goals scored at the DI level. She also broke the C-USA all-time career points record, recording 127 points over her prolific five-year career.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on December 10.
