Upgrade of Existing Technology
The existing instruments are very old and cannot be fixed.

Upgrading the Basic and Advanced Electronics Laboratory. These labs are serving over 500 students annually. These students are mostly departmental majors and minors as well as others from Recording Industry, Aerospace,Agribusiness/Agriscience, and Computer Science. Each lab has 12 similar stations equipped with the basic essential testing instruments. Many of these instruments are old and need replacing. The power supplies and wave generators in the labs are not working in some cases and the one that does work will not meet the minimum requirements. These are 25 year old power supplies and cannot be revived any longer. Malfunctioning cheap wave generators also give many problems on the ageing (not working) equipment as well as the hazardous chemicals and conditions involved int he the 30 year old darkrroom. The new PCB routers do not require chemicals to operate. The upgrade is essential for student learning as well as required for the ABET accreditation of the Computer and Electro-mechanical ET programs.
