This request is to provide much-needed updates to several important, technological aspects of the Theatre training program. First, we request a dust and debris collection system be installed in the scenic studio so as to improve air quality in this space for staff and student workers; this is a long-identified need and is crucial for compliance with discipline-specific accreditation standards. Likewise, we need to replace the antiquated (over 25 years old) compressor system in the scenic studio, which is used for a variety of construction applications. Second, the equipment and technology in the Make-up classroom/studio needs to be updated with functional, safe, and more current technology. Currently, there exposed connectors at the ends of light fixtures that are further degrading. Third, the fly system in Tucker Theatre was installed over 15 years ago and the intention, when it was installed, was to add line sets above its current capacity so it would be more functional. This has yet to be completed, and is needed desperately. Finally, because the technology of theatrical lighting equipment is ever-evolving, we request the addition of supplemental lighting equipment to our inventory so we can maintain currency in teaching new technologies to our students.
