The Adaptive Technology Center(ATC) offers universal access. Through our functions as an open computer lab, on-going services to students registered with Disabled Student services, collaboration with faculty/departments who are serving students with disabilities, and our short term equipment loans, the ATC serves more than 1000 students annually. This includes over 600 students who are registered with DSS, diverse learners, nontraditional students, and students studying disability related fields. The DSS office supports the ATC lab and the adaptive technology contained in the ATC, and will provide consultative services to the other lab directors who have adaptive technology in their labs. This proposal includes upgrades for Kurzweil 3000 and the addition of Firefly (text-to-speech) for web-based applications. The CCTV upgrades along with the DaVinchi(HD) allows for students with low vision to view applications more readily. The printer and copier are due for upgrades. Mathtype software allows for increased help for students with Math Applications. The tablets allow for increased knowledge of accessible aps and introduction to new technological advances. The crosscut shredder allows for more fine shredding for students.
