The Theatre program consists of many creative disciplines across its curriculum. Make-up design is a thriving program for the theatre; each semester sections are filled to capacity. The make-up space is severely lacking the innovative technologies necessary to bring the program into the modern age. Current make-up lighting is all fluorescent tubing with some exposed connectors which have begun to degrade. We ask this space be updated with new state of the art equipment. The sewing machines in the costume studio have been serviced annually; however, they have reached the end of their usable life. In the Scenic Design studio, the air compressor is antiquated and needs to be updated. New courses in Acting for the Camera require video camera equipment for effective teaching and learning. The fly system in Tucker Theatre was installed over 15 years ago. When the system was installed they left holes for additional line sets to be added at a later date. We request to add line sets onto the existing arbor to increase functionality. An ongoing part of our technical program enhancement is the constant addition of new lighting equipment. We request to add new lighting fixtures to supplement our existing inventory. In total, this proposal will benefit 400 students annually through course and lab enrollments.
