Line Item #1: RIA tax database provides access to IRS Codes, Regulations, and court cases. Students use database for research and preparation for CPA Exam. Used by 200 tax students each year. Essential for graduate Specialization in Tax Accounting certificate program. Line Item #2: AICPA Professional Literature Bundle. Software allows access to Professional Standards, Technical Practice Aids, and PCAOB Standards and Related Rules. Publications essential to improve student success in all Auditing courses. Software used by over 200 students each year. Line Item #3: ALEKS Access Codes give students access to on-line module for review of accounting cycle before enrolling in Intermediate Accounting I course. Essential element of Intermediate Readiness Program and is a "best practice" in AACSB accreditation process. Code can be used only once. 300 students use codes each year. Line Item #4: Intuit QuickBooks Software Site License allows students access to real-time accounting software. Software is included in instruction of Accounting Systems courses. Site license allows installation on 50 computers. Software is used by over 200 students each year. Line Item #5: Standard Master Classroom Configuration. The current ELMO unit is the original 15-year old unit. The video is fuzzy and not as bright as needed. The classroom is used by all colleges and departments at MTSU, and service hundreds of students weekly. Also, the room is frequently used for conferences, special events by student organizations, and other university-wide events on weekends.
