The MTSU Band of Blue (Muen 3100/5100) relies heavily on discipline specific music technology (i.e. Musical instruments) to accomplish their instruction and allow students to have the best possible learning experience. The requested Bb Sousaphones feature a .734-inchbore with exclusive offset short action valves for ultimate player comfort, plus a 26" bell, and rugged body and brace construction for years of reliable service. The majority of the Sousaphones required for the MTSU marching band are now 23 years and older and in great need of replacement. The Band of Blue marches 25 Sousaphones and has procured five in recent years leaving a need for 20 additional instruments. Additionally, the "Pit" (non-marching percussion) that performs as part of the Band of Blue is in need of some additional sound equipment (mics, snake, mixer) to supplement their slightly inadequate gear. Lastly, we are asking for 30 hi-tech body metronome units for the Band of Blue. Each fall the Band of Blue marches over 300 students and provides an invaluable service to band students, the Athletic department, the MTSU community and the public at large.
