The Theatre program consists of many creative disciplines across its curriculum. Make-up design is a thriving program for the theatre, each semester all sections are filled to capacity. The make-up space, however; is severely lacking new and innovative technologies necessary to bring the program into the modern age. Current make-up lighting is all fluorescent tubing with exposed connectors which has begun to degrade. We ask this space be updated with new lighting and presentation equipment. The sewing machines in the costume studio have been serviced annually; however, they have reached the end of their usable life. In the Scenic Design studio, the air compressor is very old and antiquated and needs to be updated. The design lab is used for teaching multiple types of design and theatrical courses. This space currently has a Nomad cart, but this is very ineffective for the courses taught in the space. Updated technology is requested. The fly system in Tucker Theatre was installed over 15 years ago. When installed they left holes for additional line sets to be added at a later date. We request the addition line sets onto the existing arbor. An ongoing part of our technical program is the constant addition of new lighting equipment. We would like to add some new state of the art lighting fixtures to supplement our existing inventory. Dance has grown to the point that additional studio space is necessary, the smaller studio in Murphy Center needs to be outfitted with sprung floors and mirrors.
