Music: (300 students train with the Band of Blue annually) Replace 7 of 20 outdated (23 years old) sousaphones and cases, supplement sound equipment for pit orchestra (digital mixer, mic drum with road case, mics, Audio Snake), provide 30 new high-tech metronome units for marching band. Art (~300 students enrolled annually): Sculpture requests 3-D based printing equipment to allow students to integrate digital based printing and modeling processes for use in metal casting and mold-making areas. Anthropology/History (~ 250 students annually): New shared laboratory space in WPS111 includes student archaeological laboratory, artifact curation, collections management, and museum display design, supporting coursework (Human Osteology, Ethnobotany, Archaeological Methods, Museum Curation, EXL Archaeological Field School, and Special Topics), student research, and professional development in archaeology, cultural resources management, and historic preservation. Will use existing iPad cart and 12 iPads. Need iPad cases for field work, 4 student microscopes (2 camera mounted and 2 without), camera case, plus an instructor’s microscope suite along with herbarium, casts, and miscellaneous lab equipment. Theatre (~225 Students annually & 400+ community members in Tucker): The fly system in Tucker Theatre was installed over 15 years ago and is in desperate need of additional counterweight systems and updating of the existing ones. Technology has changed dramatically and new productions require improved and additional counterweights. Replace high tech sewing machines in the costume studio (serviced annually; but have reached the end of their usable life). Performance area needs video camera and tripod.
