This proposal includes a variety of video production equipment and software. Two Ross Expression character generators will provide a major upgrade for both the Video and Film Production program and Multimedia Journalism. A complement of cameras, lenses, tripods, and associated gear will be used by students across the departments of Electronic Media Communication and Journalism. Toon Boom and Dragonframe animation software will be used in the Animation program. It also includes equipment, keyboard workstations, computers, software and monitors to replace outdated equipment in EM Lab and to replace computers in studio/labs which are vital to sustain the 24/7 multi-track recording and mixing operation each semester, crucial to classroom instruction and lab assignments. This equipment and computers/software will replace outdated equipment (some 10 years old) which are unable to run the departments audio recording software. Failure to provide students with sufficient equipment will prevent course work from being accomplished in courses which provide industry-standard proficiencies essential to a student's success, employment and future career.
