Two new laboratory spaces in DSB are reserved for mechatronics engineering. Move in is scheduled for December 2016 and we will use the spaces in spring 2017. We now have 241 mechatronics majors in the pipeline. The first class of 16 will graduate this spring. The following class is around 40. Larger classes will follow. We desperately need the additional two laboratory spaces. We also need appropriate equipment in the labs to conduct classes. This proposal is to provide the minimum equipment necessary to support student activities in pursuing important junior and senior classes that will allow them to graduate on time (ENGR 3590, 4530, 3520, 2130, 3530, 3510). We estimate the cost of requested equipment below is $94,468.20. The labs and equipment will also supplement additional ET laboratory course sections as well as mechatronics.
