In the interest of the safety of the performers, Theatre and Dance needs a sprung dance floor and adequate AV equipment. This space should fulfill NAST compliance requirements and serve approximately 150 - 200 students. It would also serve as a significant recruiting tool. THEA-4480 is an automated lighting course. The Dot2 lighting console is one of the most modern and user-friendly available and will help teach students the complexities of lighting programming. The Murphy Center G040A Dance Studio serves over 200 students annually and needs dance sub-flooring installed to help prevent injury. Tucker Theatre is in need of a Closed Captioning System for ADA compliance. The School of Music is requesting a second installment of the purchase of much needed Sousaphones for the Band of Blue and is requesting an additional 9 instruments toward the completion of the full replacement of the 24 years old instruments. Over 300 students train with the Band of Blue annually.
