This proposal adds critical hardware components to support our Security and Big Data courses. These courses are major components in both our undergraduate and graduate programs. The proposal would allow students to access and use big data and security tools in a virtual environment. This would give them hands-on experience, which would benefit them tremendously when they seeks employment. The tools are standard tools used throughout industry. Storage is requested since it is vital to the delivery of the Big Data course due to the nature of the content in the course. The most efficient way to train our students with these tools is through a virtual environment, which requires the servers and storage in this proposal. The students benefiting from this proposal would be those registered for INFS 4300, INFS 4900, INFS 6300, and INFS 6302. Which would account for approximately impact 355 students each academic year. This proposal would also allow us to expand the content covered in most of the courses listed to ensure our students are getting educated and trained with the most current tools and technology.
