New equipment for the Art Department is needed to support updated course materials and better accommodate student growth. Requested equipment for the Gore Center will help provide oral history training for its students and assist in facilitating the Center's efforts to coordinate with the Oral History Association and integrate oral history research methods into the History Department's coursework. Due to FCC changes in wireless bandwidth, new wireless microphones are needed to replace non-functional existing units for use in all Theatre performances in Tucker Theatre. The installation of the Ensemble Practice Room into SFA is needed to better meet the needs of the growing student population in the School of Music. The ensemble room requested will provide different ambient environments for study (i.e. simulate a concert hall, cathedral, etc.), as well as built-in recording and playback functions to enhance study. The microbalance table with the marble anti-vibration table are essential equipment for preparation of human bone samples for stable isotope analysis and will complete a fully equipped stable isotope sample preparation lab on MTSU’s campus. The classroom video system in Tucker has become outdated and in need of an upgrade in order to keep up with technological advancements made since its original installation. The skeletal pathology and trauma casts will provide the Forensic Institute for Research and Education with much-needed visual and hands-on cases needed to enhance paleopathology instruction.
