This proposal includes priority equipment needs in the Department of Economics and Finance. The Finance Lab (BAS N127) is the department's most frequently used room, serving 23 students in the Masters of Science in Finance, 24 students in the M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics, and more than 600 undergraduates majoring or minoring in Economics, Finance, Insurance, or Real Estate. We propose purchasing a Bloomberg Terminal for BAS N127. Unfortunately, the library discontinued this resource because it is too discipline specific, but our students need it to prepare for the financial workplace. The Bloomberg Terminal is the industry standard tool for financial professionals to access real time data and analysis of financial markets and investments around the world. The Bloomberg terminal includes multiple monitors, a CPU with internet access, and a special keyboard for navigating the terminal. We also propose purchasing three items needed in the real estate program to prepare students for the increased reliance on 3D technology and video production in the industry. We propose providing the newly renovated student engagement space (BAS N330) that houses the real estate program with a high-end PC capable of running 3D imagery and video production applications for drone photography; a Matterport Pro2 3D camera for capturing real estate projects, home tours, diagramming appraisal properties, and marking projects; and DJI Mavic Pro Fly More Combo with DJI Goggles for property surveys, land mapping, development visualization, and marketing projects.
