The KOM computer lab serves thousands of students each semester. Approx 100,000 sessions are logged yearly for 7500 students/800 sessions per day. We are requesting the replacement of a server providing remote graphical linux desktops to students that was purchased in 2007 and is seven years out of warranty. We have a virtual machine host server that was purchased in 2011 that provides support services to the lab. This server is two years past the warranty expiration date and the hard drives have been failing. We are requesting one server capable of hosting virtual machines to replace this aging server. We also have several aging UPS battery backups with PDUs that provide power and battery backup capabilities to servers that support the lab. We are requesting replacement of one of the UPSs with a PDU this year. Our domain controller which manages all the computer policies and logins in the five labs is 5 years out of warranty and should be replaced. We are asking for software to prepare software packages for automatic deployment in the labs. We are asking for a 48 port switch to replace a switch that has been in use for approximately 10 years and is well out of warranty. We also need additional electrical circuits added to support the servers.
