The Instructional Technology Support Center (ITSC) provides students with University-wide access to 101 computers in the Instructional Media Resources (IMR) Computer Center, two computer labs, a 21st century classroom, and the graduate student multimedia center. The IMR Computer Center is open 72 hours per week for walk-in use. Open lab times are scheduled in the labs up to 50 hours weekly. Any faculty member may schedule class sessions in the labs. Eight-six such sessions were scheduled last year. Student visits to the ITSC totaled 20,631 during 2000. The College of Education and Behavioral Science schedules 57 regular classes (enrollment=1368) in the ITSC annually. Last year, we received $30,000 in recurring dollars for 3 years from Pool 2 to fund graduate and undergraduate student workers. The graduate assistants install software, conduct routine computer maintenance, etc. Undergraduate workers serve as lab assistants, workers crucial to maintaining as many open lab hours as possible. The $30,000 in annual funding has not been sufficient to cover our student work needs. This year we ran out of undergraduate student work funds by the end of fall semester. We are requesting that our $30,000 allocation for 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 be increased by $14,000 to $44,000.
