- Wenger Choral risers will replace old, very heavy and hard to move risers that do not have 4-step capability or side-rails for performer/student safety. These risers will be used by about 200 MTSU students, in front of audiences of over 700 each semester. The video/recording equipment requested for our various ensembles will improve the training of student conductors and performers, and serve as well for on-line recruiting demonstrations. This equipment will be used by approximately 60 students each semester, both in studio classes and in performances with estimated audiences of over 800 each semester. The acquisition of new flugelhorns and trombones would allow numerous ensembles, from jazz combos to the Band of Blue, access to instruments most students do not own. Having these instruments will help ensure a uniform sound quality in these ensembles for many years to come, and will be used in more than 25 public performances per academic year, reaching an audience of many thousands. - All sections offered of Make-up Design are filled to capacity. We ask that the make-up space used to teach the course be updated with new lighting and presentation equipment, along with the requisite exhaust systems (a safety issue), as well as essential training tools. The ETC ColorSource light instruments, along with the Source 4 Lustr 2 and Chauvet MK2 Spotlights would help bring the lighting capabilities in Tucker Theatre closer to current industry standards and allow for a more state-of-the-art learning experience for our students.
