The Diebold Value Terminal (DVT) is an addition to the student ID system. With this terminal students could add cash to their Raider Fund debit account at a convenient location in the KUC. Being able to easily add money to their debit account will be safer for students than carrying cash. Purchases can be made faster at the Bookstore, the Grill and other cafeterias. A faster checkout at the Bookstore, the Grill and other cafeterias will benefit other students by making the checkout lines move faster. Students can also use debit cards in vending machines and laundry facilities on campus. There are 12,000 activated Raider Fund accounts totaling $115,400 at the present time. There are two DVT terminals on campus. One is located in the Library Copy Center and one in the BAS computer lab. $42,000 cash has been deposited in these machines since July 1. Students who want to add cash to their debit account now have to go to one of these locations or to the cashier windows in the Cope Building. The goal is to have DVTs located in several convenient locations acount campus, so that students can easily deposit cash to their cards. Raider Fund$ are safer for students than carry cash. If their card is lost or stolen, then can report it missing and the card will be deactivated.
