The Theatre and Dance Department has an in-depth training program, as well as an extensive co-curricular program that is the envy of many schools with similar populations. Along with serving our majors, we have active students from CME, RIM, Music, A&E Design, Fashion, Interior Design, and Studio Arts. Lighting design/technology continues to be a thriving aspect of the theatre and dance programs. An essential and ongoing aspect of training is the need for additional lighting equipment that is currently used in the industry. We request the addition of new state of the art control to replace no longer supported equipment. We are also asking for additional lighting specific networking equipment to expand flexibility, supporting recent inventory acquisitions through previous TAF proposals and purchases. Projection continues to be a critical component of instruction and production in our industry and department. The current projector is not sufficient according to testing done for the space and does not meet intensity levels acceptable for instruction or production. Replacement would also enhance the numerous university events held in Tucker Theatre.
