The Theatre and Dance Department has an in-depth training program, as well as an extensive co-curricular program that delivers experiential opportunities that rivals and exceeds similar programs throughout the country. Along with serving our majors, we engage students from Media Arts, RIM, Music, Arts and Entertainment, Fashion, Interior Design, and Studio Arts. Lighting design/technology continues to be a thriving aspect of our Theatre and Dance programs. An essential and ongoing aspect of training is the need for lighting equipment that is currently used in the industry. In order to stay current and prepare our students for professional work outside of the University. We request the acquisition of state-of-the-art control systems to replace our obsolete equipment no longer supported by the manufacturer. Additional lighting specific networking equipment to expand flexibility will support the utilization of recent inventory acquisitions through previous TAF proposals and purchases.
