BAS S314 is a computer classroom (34 student computers) with the same basic technology that was put in place when the building was built in 1997. The whiteboard is on the smallest wall in the room and an antiquated manual projection screen takes up most of the whiteboard space when lowered. In order to lower the projection screen, the instructor must pull the string that is attached. Therefore the screen usually stays lowered even when not in use. The whiteboard was installed on the same side of the room as the door further decreasing the whiteboard space. In order for the instructor to have any whiteboard space available to write when the screen is lowered a portable whiteboard was moved into the room. Given the layout of the room, the portable whiteboard is normally located right in front of the door. The technology requested in this proposal would relocate the whiteboards to the longest wall in the room and upgrade the instructor's station as well as the audio, and other technology in the room. The student computers(34) will be replaced by the TAF replacement cycle. This computer classroom is heavily used by the Information Systems and Analytics department as well as other departments on campus. In the fall 2019 semester, 16 classes with 354 students enrolled were offered by the English, Social Work, Journalism, and ISA department used BAS S314. For the spring 2020 semester, there were 20 different courses with 437 students scheduled using BAS S314.
