This proposal requests funding to maintain software used to operate the a/v system for the MTSU Center for Counseling & Psychological Services (CCPS), a non-profit training clinic housed in the Professional Counseling Program. CCPS was awarded a TAF grant in 2019 to purchase access to SimulationIQ Counseling Solution, a system that offers multiple client-related services for CCPS to operate including digital recordings of sessions both in person and virtual, scheduling, case note, and treatment planning. The operating system was installed in December 2019 and has been a tremendous asset to our ability to serve clients. Since 2019, we have provided counseling services to over 190 clients, with approximately 80% from the MTSU university community. Each client averages approximately 10 sessions over the semester, thus 1900 hours of client contact. In Spring 2022, we will have 23 practicum students, the highest number in the program’s history. We anticipate serving approximately 125 clients, each receiving approximately 10 sessions (1250 client hours). We continue to be a referral source for both the MTSU Counseling Services and the MTSU Health Services, as well as local agencies and schools. At this point, the system is necessary for us to continue operation. Our contracted access ends March 2023. Given the mental health needs of the community, we hope to continue to be a resource for our community by providing individual and group counseling services. This request includes 5 years of access to the system, cloud storage, and four (4) telehealth licenses, which allows us to continue to provide distance counseling services for the online education program.
