For the Theatre and Dance department, projection continues to be a critical component of instruction and production in our industry. Our current projector is outdated and is not sufficient according to testing done for the space. It also does not meet the intensity levels acceptable for instruction or production. Replacement would enhance the numerous university events held in Tucker Theatre. The number of students attending various Tucker events and performance is countless. Our average student attendance for one show is approximately 1500-2000. Dance continues to grow in the number of majors and is preparing for NASD accreditation. Audio, video and projection capabilities are needed to support instruction and production needs. The students need a dedicated computer to edit their audition reels in order to apply for jobs and graduate opportunities. The number of students using the editing computer would be approximately 45. Rehearsal blocks are needed for students to use in class and rehearsals. ( 125 students using) Our scenic studio seeks a cnc cuttter in order to meet current technology standards for the industry. It is important for our students to learn to operate said equipment in order to be competitive in the job market. Approximately 125 students per semester would be exposed to the cnc cutter.
