The Theatre and Dance Department has an in-depth training and co-curricular program enhanced by regular integration of state of the art technology. The department requests the following project for the Studio Theatre (BDA 101) which serves as a classroom, performance space, and university event space. The department is proactive in seeking additional funding sources (sustainable campus fund) but has not found success. We humbly ask for your consideration in funding the following project: The addition of Color Source Spot LED and Color Source Par LED stage fixtures to the studio theatre will enhance production flexibility, student training, and updates to current industry standards. The classroom lighting system is showing signs of failure. Traditional replacement lamps are expensive and do not last. This request updates the existing classroom lighting system to Dimmable LED. Rehearsal blocks serve as primary tools for acting, musical theatre and directing classes to stage theatre scenes in a classroom environment. Expanding inventory would help teach classes more effectively. Stage communication is a critical production requirement with need for additional personal wireless communication capacity to serve the scale of shows. Expansion of the existing wireless Clear-Com system includes antenna, 4 wireless comms, and battery charger. The Studio Theatre seating is failing, is not durable enough for our use, and no longer cost effective to replace. Updated seating allows for additional capacity and flexibility that allows for both classroom and production use. The package includes seating and storage solutions.
