The BAS University Lab (Study Hub), located in BAS S137, serves as the main computer lab for MTSU students and is open seven days a week. This facility serves the entire campus, supporting all majors, departments, and colleges. Annually, the Study Hub records over 20,000 student login sessions. We provide a variety of services to students, including access to 146 computers equipped with academic software, two demo rooms for class and exam delivery, one team study room, and four group study pods. Additional resources include color and black-and-white printers, scanners, and equipment checkouts for students, primarily laptops for those who need to run software that isn't compatible with Mac laptops or lack access to the necessary software. Each year, we host approximately 200 class events organized by professors, instructors, staff, and students. We also offer laptops for checkout, and during the first few days of each semester, students quickly check out laptops for the entire term. However, we have noticed a significant increase in demand for laptop checkouts that we are currently unable to meet. In this proposal, we request funding to upgrade the teacher station and AV equipment in the BAS S137E room, as well as to purchase 10 Dell laptops to better support our students' needs.
