The College of Behavioral and Health Sciences serves over 4,000 students dedicated to transforming community wellness. The requested equipment addresses essential instructional and clinical training needs across multiple departments, directly enhancing student learning, applied research, and workforce readiness. In Speech-Language Pathology, the Portable FEES System will provide students with hands-on experience conducting fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallowing—a critical competency for modern clinical practice. Similarly, the Nursing program’s OB/Maternity Simulation Manikin System will enable students to manage high-risk obstetric scenarios in a controlled environment, significantly strengthening maternal–child health training and patient-safety skills prior to real-world clinical placements. To support physiological and neurological research, the Exercise Science program requires the Trigno Avanti System for high-quality wireless EMG and motion analysis, while the Psychology Department’s portable 32-channel EEG system and dedicated Dell workstation will allow undergraduate and graduate students to engage in neuroscience research using professional-grade equipment. Furthermore, Pearson cognitive assessment licenses and WAIS-5 testing kits are vital for maintaining clinical and school psychology program accreditation and ensuring continued excellence in standardized assessment and evidence-based practice. Finally, the Criminal Justice program will utilize a Dell workstation to run specialized software for the Artec scanner (previously TAF-funded), enabling students to develop industry-standard skills in forensic documentation and crime-scene analysis. Collectively, these investments ensure that students across seven programs (over 2600 undergraduate and 250 graduate students combined) train with modern discipline-specific technologies that elevate instructional quality and accelerate career preparation.
