We are requesting essential technology upgrades in AMG 116 and AMG 121 to support the instructional needs of students in the Speech‑Language Pathology and Audiology (SLPA) program. Specifically, we seek funding for screen‑mirroring software and an assistive listening system for both classrooms. The mirroring software will be used across all SLPA courses, including our new CDIS 4950: Augmentative and Alternative Communication course, which trains students to use field‑standard, high‑tech communication devices. This software allows instructors to mirror iPad‑based clinical apps to the classroom display—an essential capability for teaching device programming and therapy procedures. Because our SLPA major frequently enrolls students with hearing impairments, the assistive listening system is also critical. It would allow students’ hearing aids to connect directly to the instructional audio, ensuring full access during lectures and demonstrations. AMG 116 has not been updated since its original TAF-funded renovation 16 years ago. To meet current instructional needs, we are requesting a wall‑mounted touchscreen display and a tracking camera. The touchscreen supports anatomy and clinical courses by enabling instructors to annotate, save notes, and ensure handwritten content is visible in class recordings. The existing camera captures only a portion of the whiteboard, limiting access to instructional material for students who rely on recorded lectures. AMG 116 and 121 are centrally located near our on‑campus clinic, supporting hands‑on learning. These upgrades will benefit the 120 students currently enrolled in the SLPA major and will support our planned expansion to a graduate program serving an additional 40 students.
