Master classroom portion of renovation was obtained in 2024-2025 for AMG 210. This proposal is for the discipline-specific construction necessary to complete the classroom update and conversion. The Athletic Training Program currently shares space with athletics and has managed this for over 25 years. However, as the Master of Science in Athletic Training develops, graduate students need independent space for teaching, practice, and research. A new learning lab facility will also support marketing for student recruitment and retention. This new construction and renovation will include a water and therapy section, a room-based therapy section, and a section with enough space to accommodate 24-30 students in a classroom. This new exclusive space will allow more time to schedule courses without conflicts with athletics, more time for students to access equipment and resources for review and practice, and more space to manage classes, conduct research, and provide clinic services. This proposal includes requesting Water Immersion and Therapy Lab construction, Classroom Portion construction, and Discipline-Specific Equipment to construct the room for various purposes, as needed to meet educational standards and guidelines within the profession. Please see below. Bldg/Room: AMG 210 The Water Immersion and Therapy Lab will require considerable construction. The estimated cost for this area is $ 94,000. This includes: • Hot and cold water faucets and infrastructure • Floor drain with appropriate slope • Waterproof flooring with a curb. • GFCI electrical outlets • Lockable wall-mounted storage cabinets The Discipline-specific equipment requests in this proposal are the equipment necessary to have in the wet area constructed, along with the items that need to be installed in the renovation and construction process.
