An LI-6800 Photosynthesis System will be used for teaching the PLSO 4690 course, which is currently one of the required upper division courses for all Plant and Soil Science Major. The current equipment (LI-6400) has been used for more than ten years, and the company has discontinued it and stopped servicing it. This equipment will be used for conducting hand-on learning activities used by four Plant and Soil Science courses with more than 150 students enrolled annually. A Henryetta AI teaching module could be used by all animal science students for conducting hands-on learning on Artificial Insemination, benefiting ~250 per year. Finally, a RealCow (Robotic) Mechanical System will integrate advanced technology with hands-on, experiential learning for students in the Horse Science Program. It will help students gain an understanding of technology-driven learning projects, reduce the need for continuous access to live cattle, and support instruction across numerous animal science courses and student organizations.
