Replacement of Existing Technology

Much of the equipment being replaced is obsolete and warn out. Some of the equipment and software will not work with the new Mac OSX operating system.

This package of equipment and software, upgrades and improves all most all of the laboratories and studios used by Recording Industry majors and minors. The package includes replacement for most of the equipment in the MIDI (electronic music) laboratory. It also includes a major replacement of equipment (audio console automation) in recording studio B and an improvement of that studio with a new DAW (digital audio workstation). Finally, there are smaller improvements and upgrades for the Mastering laboratory, the Digital Audio laboratory, and the Ezell studios. Well over 350 students use theses studios and laboratories each semester. All will benefit from the items in this package.
