Replacement of Existing Technology

This proposal asks for funding under three subcategories: 1) Hardware replacement (Items 1-9). All the listed items to be replaced were purchased in Fall 2001 using TAF fund. The lab servers were essential for our lab operation (for distributing language learning materials, administering placement tests and managing student workstations). The old printer was dead in Summer 2004 and the current temporary replacement is a relocated one that was also purchased in 2001; The laptop has been used for teaching in classrooms with no computer equipment. 2) Software update (Items 10-14). Items 11-14 were purchased in Fall 2001 and have been used for language courses and graduate courses; 3) New software (Items 15-17). The three items have been requested by our faculty for use in classroom instruction.
