Provide an additional workstation at the front of BAS S306. The current teacher station is located at the back of the classroom and works very well when teaching computer applications. It does not work well for conventional lectures and neither students nor instructors like the instructor lecturing from the back of the classroom. Since our courses typically involve both lecture and computer applications, student learning can be enhanced through the addition of a workstation at the front of the classroom. Courses taught in this classroom primarily include MGMT, MKT, CIS, ENGL, QM, ECON, and FIN. There are typically 15-16 classes scheduled in this room each fall and each spring semester. In the summer, this room is typically used for 5-8 classes and also for student registraton at CUSTOMS. Assuming 25-30 students per class and 100 CUSTOMS students, approximately 1,000-1,100 students would benefit from this technology annually. Instead of a complete duplicate instructor workstation, we would only need the cabinet, an additional PC, an additional AMX charger, computer interfacing/cables, installation labor, and AMX programming. We also request that the Digital Document Camera (visual presenter) be moved from the rear workstation to the front workstation.
