This request is for an expansion of the open computer lab presently operated through the University Writing Center. The purpose behind this expansion is to provide additional services for MTSU students in the area of communication. This expansion would allow students in general education courses such as speech, as well as students in disciplines such as business, mass communications, speech and theatre, and others, to work with trained assistants on their speeches and presentations, practice their speeches and presentations, and review their recorded practice sessions in order to evaluate and improve. It would also give them space to work on the computers and with the presentation equipment in groups. This expansion will also provide additional space for the work that students are presently completing in PH 325 and 326--when they can find space or an open computer is these busy rooms.
