Provide equipment and supplementary materials to add handwriting recognition technology to one classroom, either BAS S314 or BAS S315. Students are currently given instruction in keyboarding and speech recognition in these classrooms. Adding handwriting recognition would allow for instruction in cutting edge technology. The technology would be used in BMOM 2320, BMOM 3510H, BMOM 4250/5250, and BMOM 6830. These courses would include students who could put learned skills to practical use; and in the case of BMOM 4250/5250, future teachers could use their skills/knowledge to teach their students the use of the same or similar technology. An estimated 175-200 students would take courses annually where this technology would be used. A unit for 36 student workstations and 1 teacher station would be needed.
