Replace all 36 student personal computers and one instructor computer in BAS S304. The CIS department will implement a new curriculum model for the Fall, 2006 semester and most of our major classes will be taught in this classroom. Course requirements of these new courses require faster cpu's, more main memory and larger hard drives than what is normally the standard for computer classrooms. Computers in this classroom were purchased in March, 2002 and were scheduled for replacement this spring (2006) under TAF category 0. It is my understanding they should be replaced for the Fall, 2006 semester. If full funding to replace these computers is not available in Category 5, I request funding at a level to cover the upgrades above the standard Category 0 TAF replacement computers in the amount of $500 per PC.
