The Department of Health and Human Performance has 500 + undergraduate majors, 113 graduate students and approximately 2,000 lower division students. The Buoyancy Compensators that are requested will be used in our Scuba I and II programs. Approximately 500 students have participated in these classes since 2004. The addition of these products will assist to upgrade the very popular Water and Water Safety program. The heart rate monitors with memory, and the basic heart rate monitors will be used by all activity classes for measuring heart rate, as well as, by the Exercise Science program while training their students. The laptop computers and projectors will be used in classrooms that are not equipped with “master classroom” equipment by every division of the department. The traction table, electrical stimulation unit, electromyography and trans-electrical nerve stimulator will be used to give students practice time using authentic equipment and these will also be used for the replacement of equipment needed to meet accreditation requirements in the Athletic Training area.
