As more and more of our teaching across campus is converted to Powerpoint presentations, demand for master classrooms is on the upswing. Only 5 classrooms in Stark and the Horticulture Building are dedicated to Agribusiness and Agriscience departmental teaching, and must be shared between 11 faculty members. At present the Stark computer lab and the Horticulture Center lecture room are the only classrooms equipped for powerpoint presentations. Rather than request 3 master classroom setups, it is more cost efficient and equally effective to request that a portable master classroom setup be purchased that can be moved from class to class to serve the current teaching requirements. Since the students are required to make presentations in practically every class taught in the department, and most of them choose to make Powerpoint presentations (as opposed to playing video tapes, etc.), the setup requested will only consist of a computer and portable projector. With around 425 majors and 125 non-major students taking Agribusiness and Agriscience classes, this request will affect approximately 550 students.
