Funds are requested for: Line item 1): The RIA tax database providing access to the Internal Revenue Code, Regulations, and court cases. Students use the database for research, preparation for the CPA Exam and subsequent practice. Line item 2): The AICPA database providing access to professional accounting literature which accounting students use in accounting classes. Line item3): The MSDN Academic Alliance license allowing installation of various Microsoft products on classroom/lab computers as well as permitting free copies of the software for student use. Line item 4): The Audit Analytics database providing research resources for investment, accounting, insurance, legal, regulatory, and academic communities. All undergraduate accounting majors (approximately 600) and M.S. students (approximately 100) will benefit from these resources. Business students (approximately 4000) will also benefit. Line item 5): Approximately 50 additional site licenses for Rivet DragonTag software. Increased use of this software by students requires additional site licenses (a one-time purchase). Line item 6): Access fees to an Intermediate Accounting readiness online learning module providing the required review for students entering Intermediate Accounting I (providing individualized instruction for approximately 240 students). All MTSU students may access most of these resources but some have been quantified for accounting students only.
