The electron microscope we currently use produces an analog format and was purchased in the 1988. These microscopes are no longer manufactured. Current microscopes are Windows based and are digital. A summary of student use in courses is shown below: Scanning Electron Microscopy429/639 ; Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis 436/636, Cell and Molecular Biology 421/639; Undergraduate Research 428; Special Problems in Biology 635; Biological Research 650; Thesis 664, Honors Biology 100. 90 students per year Demonstrations available to all courses in Biology and outside groups. 1000+/year
