A continuation of the BDA 320 Master Classroom project as a communication-rich environment where student ideas, interaction and experience are the mode of learning and discovery will necessitate the use of discipline-specific software. As a cross-disciplinary classroom, diverse disciplines such as Organizational Communication, Leadership Studies, Communication Studies, and Theatre will need software that is tailored to specific courses across the disciplines. This will be the first Master Classroom in this department with computer access to every student. The project is critical for the Department for two reasons: (1) we only have 2 Master Classrooms shared among three disciplines; and (2) many of our students are in programs that prepare them for graduate school. This learning and teaching environment will enable our students to compete on any graduate level. The estimated total number of students impacted by this innovative learning environment: 1,487 per year enrolled in 32 different courses.
