Wireless Infrastructure Upgrade - This project will replace most remaining "first generation" wireless access points with the latest thin access point system. These devices, some five years old, are either out of warranty now or will be by 2008. The product itself was discontinued in 2005. The next generation of access points are based on a thin client/server model, where the intelligence and management of the access points are handled by a central server switch, allowing for greater management options and flexibility. Rogue detection, increased throughput, and security enhancements are other benefits.
