Purchase a 5-lane small arms weapons simulation system capable of training Cadets in basic rifle marksmanship. This system enables realistic training while avoiding safety issues due to live ammunition, travel time to local ranges, cost of ammunition, and physical security of live weapons stored on campus. It can be used as a training tool for Cadets, the Criminal Justice Department, and MTSU Police Department, and is an ideal recruiting tool. Construct a 40’ x 40’ metal-roofed, climate-controlled shelter for the simulator, inside the existing ROTC Annex building. The shelter includes electrical and data outlets, outdoor carpet, additional lighting, and a storage area. Improvements to the ROTC Annex consist of re-surfacing the Annex floor, installing additional lighting, adding a drain to enable wet-mopping the floor, and adding an additional outside door.
