H202 Distillation Machine and Storage System: This device meets the university mission of teaching, public service and research. For alternative fuel classes and visiting classes from other departments, it will benefit about 200 students annually. Approximately 30 public presentations are made annually. The results of this device will attract media coverage reaching over 1,000,000. This year, media coverage is approaching 5 million viewers. Product description: http://www.tecaeromex.com/ingles/destilai.htm. Diurnal Growth Chamber: This is needed technology to update and improve ABAS courses. This computerized system allows for many different germination and growth laboratory exercises. With this technology, concepts relating to plant responses to environment will be taught. This will be used in the required Plant Science course (ABAS 1610), as well as ABAS 4620, 4630, 4670, 4660, 4300, 3660, and 3850. Annual enrollment for courses using this would be approximately 400. Digital high capacity scales: This will provide students in ABAS courses the ability to precisely weigh items up to 44 lbs. The portability of the scales allow for transport between the SAG and the Farm. Classes in which this is needed include ABAS 3370, 3660, 4630, and 4310. This would also be used with the Master Gardeners class.
