BAS S302, a master classroom with student computers, is used for a variety of classes in the Management and Marketing Department and Economics/Finance Department. It is typical for classes offered by the English Department to be held in that room. The room is also a lab for the Consumer Confidence Office and the Mid-Tenn Poll. In these labs, students complete phone calls using calling center technology/software to collect data for surveys. The student lab requirements are experiential learning activities for majors in mass communications and marketing. Typical usage of the room by students can be demonstrated by reviewing use of the room in 2011 – 2012. Information follows: Fall 2011 – 187 students in 9 different classes; 115 marketing students (4 class sections) using the lab for consumer confidence experiential assignments; and 300 mass communications students using the lab for polling/journalism experiential assignments. (TOTAL = 602 students) Spring 2012 – 147 students in 8 different classes; 81 (4 class sections) marketing students using the lab for consumer confidence experiential assignments; and 300 mass communications students using the lab for polling/journalism experiential assignments. (TOTAL = 528 students) This request is to: (1) replace/upgrade the instructor station in the back of the classroom, including replacing the desk, consolidating equipment in the current rack and current desk, and replacing the existing visual presenter with a new one; (2) replace the fixed screen with an electric screen; (3) replace the LCD projector; and (4) install white boards on the wall where fixed screen was located.
