This small TAF request is to partially replace our set of outdated and broken video camera equipment purchased 8+ years ago for Electronic Media Communication programs. Our video cameras play a key role in the curriculum for our 750 majors. Our current set of field cameras has suffered from continuous use, as well as changes in the technological environment into which they must integrate. These cameras are used in 12-13 classes per semester with an average of 18 students per class. In this scaled-back request, we are asking for 2 high-end cameras, 5 smaller cameras, plus associated equipment to support the camera field kits (lights, audio, camera bags, and tri-pods). This request will keep our production classes from failing due to lack of functioning equipment until a full replacement of all of our outdated equipment can be supported with future funding.
