Current Focus: Impact on mental health in immigrant family culture barrier.

Project Description

I am interested in doing research in or to assist in immigrant families and kids in general. I am willing to learn and help any other kind of research that can be available for me. However, I am mainly interested in "does being an immigrant kid affect your identification in society?"

Why does this topic interest you?

As an immigrant kid, I don't think mental health is something that we talk about in our community. I want to learn more about it and how it affects us and educate people on it.

What are your professional aspirations?

I want to open up a clinic for counseling, so that I can have a safe space for immigrant kids and their families. I want the space to do counseling and educate people on mental health.

Do you have any advice for future researchers?

It is great to have a comfortable zone, but sometimes staying in it might cause you to miss out on opportunities. Every now and then, it is worth stepping out of your comfort zone to see what is out there!
